School Nurses offer a confidential service and can support you with emotional health and wellbeing, healthy lifestyles and relationships and staying safe.

To arrange contact with a school nurse call our Single Point of Contact on 0800 0199951 or make an appointment at an E-Clinic.  This service is available to any young person aged 11-19 years. We can arrange virtual meetings in situations where Covid 19 may restrict face to face contacts.

School nurses in North Lincolnshire can provide confidential online advice to young people who need our help, thanks to an easily downloaded free eClinic app.

RDaSH eClinic (11-19) is an instant messaging app enabling registered users aged 11 to 19 to schedule a confidential online appointment with your school nurse, where you can have a ‘live’ chat about any health issues they are experiencing.

The eClinic app can be downloaded to any Apple or Android device using the App Store or Google Play Store.

Do you need to find a dentist in North Lincolnshire? Search on the NHS website.

You can search for dentists:

  • who are taking on new patients
  • who offer emergency NHS appointments
  • by proximity to your location

Find information on GP surgeries including how to register and book appointments to see a doctor. Use the address search tool to find your local local GP surgeries for a local practice near you.

Anyone aged 14 or older with a learning disability can get an annual health check from their doctor. You can ask to go on your GP’s register if you think you have a learning disability. You do not need to be diagnosed with a learning disability to be on the register. The learning disability register is different from the register of social care needs managed by local councils.

Check with your GP practice if you or the person you care for is on the register.

An annual health check helps you stay well by talking about your health and finding any problems early, so you get the right care. Remember you do not have to be ill to have a health check – in fact, most people have their annual health check when they’re feeling well.

For children and young people aged four to 16 years who are above a healthy weight and live in North Lincolnshire, the Get Going team provides a personalised and supportive approach to childhood weight management.

This successful programme enables children and their families to access FREE one-to-one sessions in their home or community setting. Each session aims to empower and motivate children to make healthier lifestyle choices.

Find out why regular eye tests are important. Not only will they tell if you need new glasses or a change of prescription, they are also an important eye health check. An eye test can spot many general health problems and early signs of eye conditions before you are aware of any symptoms. You could be entitled to free NHS eye tests or optical vouchers. Search for your nearest opticians.

Your pharmacy can provide you with much more than just dispensing medicine. Pharmacists are highly-trained and qualified professionals and they can offer you advice on treating many minor illnesses and ailments, such as coughs and colds, or long-term conditions such as asthma, arthritis or diabetes. They can also give you advice on keeping healthy by eating well, stopping smoking and taking part in exercise.

Pharmacies have longer opening hours than GPs, you don’t need an appointment to see one and most have a consultation area where you can speak privately.

Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) offers confidential advice, support and information on health-related matters. They provide a point of contact for patients, their families and their carers.
