Preparations are under way for North Lincolnshire’s first Festival of Skills and Opportunities in October. The event will feature a month of free activities across the area for people of all ages. You will get the chance to learn about careers, opportunities and the exciting future planned for the local economy.
North Lincolnshire Council, along with its partners is focused to help shape the area into a prosperous place to live, work, invest and play. To do this we aim to equip more people with the right skills and qualifications needed by current and future employers. This will provide us with a highly skilled and flexible job-ready workforce.
North Lincolnshire is on the cusp of creating and growing a number of sectors. The emergence of the renewables sector through the development of the South Humber Gateway and the approval of 3,000 new homes as part of the Lincolnshire Lakes project will create £6 billion of investment by 2020 and 4,100 jobs across the construction and renewable sector and associated supply chain sectors like manufacturing, engineering.
It’s all happening in October
The events range from hands-on activities for children, apprenticeship and sector events to networking, award ceremonies, official openings, and sixth form and college open events.
There’s something for everyone.
